Educators can use blogs in many ways. This is an excellent tool for leaders to implement in order to get feedback from staff on issues as well as it is a wonderful resource to post information about the district for staff as well as the community. I like the way it will allow a threaded discussion on important topics which leads to insight on various issues. These are just a few ideas and you can find many more on the web. There are also many uses for blogs in the classroom.

Action Research
The definition of Action Research is the collaborative critical enquiry by academics into their own practice. This is a reflection on what we learned by doing a certain practice. Throughout the coursework we have been asked to reflect on our progress and what we were asked to do and how we may be able to improve or use the tasks. I understand Action Research to be, in my mind as a leader, "This is how I lead and this is how my staff responds to my leadership style." By using Action Research I can ask how has this worked for me and did I get the desired outcomes? How can I change my leadership style, approach and get my staff to respond with a desired outcome. It can also be used with teachers and how their students learn. I will be able to use this type of research/reflection throughout my role as a leader to become the best possible leader to help our students achieve success. This process is time consuming, but necessary if we want to reach our full potential in our career. This task forces us to ask the hard questions of ourselves. We need to become comfortable with being uncomfortable in order to use a systemic planning process to change culture in order to ensure successful students in our ever changing world.
